The Sisterhood of the ‘Classic Black Business Pants’

The Sisterhood of the ‘Classic Black Business Pants’

Happy happy happy Sunday!

With DECA conferences being right around the corner I decided to feature a post based solely on the classic black business pants. If you aren’t a part of DECA, I can promise you that you will still need some sort of business outfit at any given point in your life whether it’s for an interview or class presentation.

If you are unfamiliar with DECA, it is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA has been an organization that has truly changed my life and I’m not sure if this blog would even exist if I was never a part of it.

With that being said, there are very few things I hate about DECA and trying to pick out an outfit that impresses the judge and my peers is one of them. Another thing was packing for conferences out in Orlando, FL and Nashville, TN where you basically had to fit your whole wardrobe in the smallest suitcase imaginable. Not only did I have to worry about cute causal daytime outfits but I had to worry about fitting my bulky business clothes in as well. One year I brought a carry-on of just shoes. NINE PAIRS OF SHOES FOR FIVE DAYS. Looking back, that was extremely stupid but hey, my feet never got bored of wearing the same boring shoes.

Here are three business professional outfits that are extremely different yet all share one common piece: the black business pant. Just like in The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants, every girl was extremely different but was brought together by one pair of jeans that fit each and every one of them. Ladies, black business pants will be one of the most flattering pieces you will ever own if you take the time to find a pair that fits just right. As Ann Brashares would say “Wear them, they will make you brave.”

The first outfit is minimal but so funky and that’s why I love it so much. I paired a black top I had from Forever21 with my black pants, a textured business jacket, and my beloved blue heels and was all set.

I chose these statement earrings because the blue matched PERFECTLY with the shoes and it added something special to the outfit.

My next outfit is pretty simple. I wore my favorite button down shirt from H&M with my black pants and some cheetah print block heels. Simple. As. That. I threw on a pearl necklace to add that missing something from my outfit.

My final outfit incorporates the classic black blazer (also from H&M) along with the pants. It wouldn’t be fitting for a business post to not throw in a blazer. My sleeveless blouse is from H&M (coincidentally all  of my shirts and most pieces for this post have been from H&M haha). I chose to style this outfit with my metallic loafers but if they are out of your comfort zone, black heels/flats would be perfect as well.

A major reason I started this blog was to create and generate fashion inspiration. There is only one you so take parts of my outfits and recreate them into your own.

I hope you enjoyed this  Sunday’s post and don’t forget; nobody can replace you or erase you so EMBRACE you.
