How to Style: Athleisure

How to Style: Athleisure

Hello beautiful!

This Sunday’s blog post is all about ATHLEISURE. If you are unfamiliar with the term athleisure it’s basically summed up in one word: heaven. I am obsessed with this new trend because it allows me to wear my leggings, sweatshirt, and sneakers without feeling like I’m scrubbing (which is exactly what this trend is; fancy scrubbing). Keep in mind that you can mix and match basic comfortable pieces while still looking like you’ve spent years on your appearance. Without further-a-do lets get on with the outfits:

My first outfit is probably my favorite. I chose the most basic pieces: Black skinny jeans, white t-shirt, and my reebok sneakers. To add a hint of my style I paired this basic outfit with my favorite bomber jacket from Zara. I fall in love with this jacket every time I put it on. It screams my style.

One thing I recommend to everyone is to add your own personal touches to each and every outfit. For me, this bomber jacket was my personal touch but for someone else it could be as simple as adding your favorite sport jacket, neon sneakers, or your favorite necklace that you got when you were thirteen (If you still have a necklace from when you were thirteen, props to you because I probably, actually definitely, would have lost it by now).

On the day that I was taking these photos, my best friend from college came into my dorm room and was wearing the perfect athleisure outfit so I decided to feature her in my blog post. She is wearing the cutest grey jacket, a white t-shirt, Nike leggings, and some slip on Vans sneakers. To add to her outfit she chose to wear her Apple Watch and sunglasses. From the very first day I met her I had always admired her sense of style and how she made every piece of clothing she owned so original and unique. I love you Collette and thank you so much for helping me with this blog post!

For my next outfit, I decided to be even more comfortable and throw on some leggings with my Adidas sweatshirt. My mom got this sweatshirt for me for Christmas and I was so excited when I opened it (Sending her not-so-subtle hints about my desperate want for an Adidas sweatshirt paid off haha, I love you mom!). Finally, I slipped on some black reebok sneakers and and threw on a leather jacket and was out the door. Adding the leather jacket really added that edgy yet put-together feel to the outfit.

My final outfit is pretty simple. I just threw on my big oversized white sweatshirt and some faux leather leggings to spice up the outfit. This outfit is extremely contemporary which is why I love it so much.

All of these outfits are super simple and are extremely easy to recreate to make them your own. I hope you have gained some fashion inspiration and thank you so much for reading this Sunday’s blog post. I’ll see you next week!

…And don’t forget there is only one you. No one can erase you or replace you so embrace you.
